Its work with the APEC Women’s Leaders Network and Trade Facilitation Office of Canada connected women business leaders from various countries in order to share best practices and help strengthen their own businesses and communities.
Leann Hackman-Carty, Partner
Ms. Leann Hackman-Carty has a diverse background in marketing, government affairs, community economic development, international relations, special events, and project development. Her leadership skills have enabled her to participate in a number of activities and events both at home and abroad. For twelve years, she was the Mayor’s Executive Assistant for Community & Economic Development at The City of Calgary. While in this position, she acted as his primary liaison for the economic development portfolio, established a position to coordinate the City’s international activities, participated in a number of incoming and outgoing international trade missions, Chaired the Latin American committee for the Expo 2005 bid and initiated a number of programs and projects. As Vice President of Promoting Calgary Inc. she took a lead role in agency, board and staff set up, developing an image/branding strategy for Calgary, crafting the community economic development plan, establishing the Sister Cities Commission, as well as providing ongoing community, public and media relations. As new staff was hired, the position focused on implementing the community economic development plan; in particular, strategic planning and developing an international marketing strategy for Calgary based on international trade and investment opportunities. Since 2002, Leann has been a Partner in Concrete Global Ventures Ltd., a private consulting firm, offering services primarily in the areas of business and market development, marketing and facilitation of B2B relationships. Her professional activities and memberships include a range of committee involvements in the private, public and non-profit sectors. In 2009, she was contracted to take on the position of Executive Director of the Economic Developers of Alberta, Alberta's economic development network. As a volunteer, Leann currently serves on the board of the Coach Hill Patterson Heights Community Association and as a volunteer with Room to Read Alberta Chapter.
Graham P. Carty, Partner
Graham has been in the Information Technology field for almost twenty years. His career started as an SAP Consultant, then moving to Omnilogic and holding several other senior positions within the IT field. Graham's diverse industry experience and understanding of how information techonology supports the strategic and operational goals and operations of a company are great assets to companies considering expansion.. He currently heads up Concrete Global Solutions, which focuses on providing information technology solutions and leadership.
